First, I loved the concept. In most dramas, the main characters meet coincidentally in a series of awkward encounters, and I liked that this drama was more focused on second chances, and the fact that they could learn from their past relationship to learn to love each other better, and how to make their lives work together, rather than being self-centered and holding grudges against each other.
I was also very pleased with the fact that rather than it being a love triangle or love square like most dramas, it was a bit more of a complex love line. I'm not a huge fan of Clara but I appreciate her character for not being irrational, but I did find it a bit odd that she backed off so easily. I was not a fan of the fact that she ended up with the doctor-turned-musician who was so in love with her; that kind of stuff doesn't really happen and I feel like they tried too hard to give her a love interest that wasn't the main guy. As for the doctor that was interested in Jin Hee, I really liked his character just wish that he was able to be with her at least once. The drama kept pushing the fact that Ji Hee helped him open up and allowed him to love again, but I honestly didn't see how exactly she taught him that. It seemed sort of..incomplete. I never saw him truly confess his love to her or open up his heart. They didn't give him a chance to do that, which was upsetting to me. I really liked the way that they led up to the romance between Oh Chang Min and Jin Hee, but I hated the way it actually ended up happening. I was glad that Oh Chang Min fell for her first, but I wish she wouldn't have changed her mind so quickly. It just felt too sudden and rushed, and they didn't give enough time for them to develop the actual relationship between them again, it just sort of happened. To me, rather than stretching out the time that Chang Min was pursuing her in a one-sided love interest, they should have stretched out the time that they were both interested in each other but not together. But that's just my opinion.
I don't know a lot about medicine but the medical scenes seemed over-dramatized and a bit unrealistic to me. Then again, I'm no doctor. Besides the main characters I wasn't a fan of any of the other staff in the hospital, and I didn't really like the way they used the married couple and Jin Hee's sister's romance as a way to mirror the main couple's mistakes; it seemed too...easy...or something.
My favorite moments in the drama were ones between Chang Min and Jin Hee; I felt like they had good chemistry and even when they were arguing or ignoring each other they were in my opinion pretty perfect together. A lot of the other stuff that went on was kind of a drag to me, and towards the end it got kind of cheesy, but I genuinely enjoyed this drama.
It's hard for me to get through an entire drama and be happy with everything by the end but this one kept me interested for quite a while. I just wish the ending hadn't been so rushed. I would have liked to see what their life afterwards had in store for them. Because of the multitude of flashbacks that appeared in the drama, I was expecting a flash to the future at the end that showed how they fixed their past problems.
Anyway, I would suggest this drama to anyone, and I loved Choi Jinhyuk a whole lot so I hope to see him in more in the future.
