When the teaser was released, I was tentative about the concept, first because it is their first real attempt at the "bad boy" image, and second because it did not at all seem like their style. I understand trying to showcase their mature sides, like they had done with Janus, but I feel like this was a step backwards for them. The music video didn't really make much sense to me, with the Peter Pan references and all, so I was a bit unhappy with it, but more content with the song than I thought I would be. As for the live performances, I honestly found the intro poorly choreographed and boring to watch, and the "Obsession" choreography is nothing special either. I've always found Boyfriend's choreography to be impressive without having to be very powerful or manly, which is part of what makes them unique, so this comeback was a bit of a letdown in terms of the concept and choreography. But the song is not bad, and though it isn't my favorite of theirs I still do like it.
First of all, Taeyang's album is absolutely great. When this song was released, I wasn't so sure I would like it, but I am pleasantly surprised at how much it has grown on me. I'm not usually impressed with music videos, and I honestly didn't make it through this one entirely, but the song is definitely very well done. His live performances are on point as well. You know a song is good when everyone starts covering it, and this song has some of the best covers since Let it Go...so yeah, good song. I love Tablo's version as well.
In my opinion, this song should have won some music shows. Not only is it a great song on its own, but they are honestly very good live. Dongjun's vocals never cease to impress me, and the harmonization at the end of the song is always pretty good during their live stages. ZE:A to me is one of the more underrated groups out there, and it's unfortunate that they aren't promoted as well as other groups because they are to me extremely talented. I didn't like that the music video was literally exactly the same as Beast's Breath at the beginning, but I like the rest of it for its whimsical and simple concept, and I am just honestly in love with the song. I think the dance also goes nicely with the song, simple but graceful. All in all a great comeback and probably my favorite from the summer so far.
There are no words for how happy I am about this comeback. B2ST was finally given a powerful comeback with more challenging and intricate choreography. I don't have much to say about the music video because again, I didn't make it all the way through, but the song's concept is unique and despite the awkward English lines in Junhyung's rap, the lyrics are well-written in my opinion. B2ST is always pretty good live and Yoseob's voice is always clear and powerful. Great song, great comeback.
I know there is always a lot of controversy surrounding girl groups and girl soloists when they do songs like this but I honestly am in love with this song. I was impressed to find that the outfit that Hyomin wears on stage and in her music video with the numbers on them are her measurements, and that she is using a tape measure as a prop for her dance. I found the concept extremely unique and intriguing, and I have no problem with the dance at all. I think it's a good balance between being sexy and being "too" sexy or provocative. Usually, I get bored watching live performances, but I've watched hers many times. I was also pretty glad to see Sungmin get a chance to show off his rapping with her on stage. What I like most about this song though are the lyrics, mainly because they're just honest. It's true, every girl wants to be skinny and pretty and be loved, and be able to say that she has a nice body. And honestly, everything that Hyomin is saying in the song is exactly what I have been thinking all summer while I have been dieting and changing to a more healthy lifestyle. The lyrics are things that girls think, but don't want to say out loud. So I have no problem with the song or concept and I honestly praise this kind of comeback. I think it is extremely well done, and this is coming from someone who is not a fan at all of T-Ara.
I'm not a huge GOT7 fan, or I wasn't really until recently, but I am a fan of this comeback, mainly because it's a cute song, perfect for summer, and it's catchy and fun to listen to when you want to hear something lighthearted and upbeat. It's not a very deep song, but I like it nonetheless. It's flirty and they're all very energetic on stage and in the music video, which is bright and peppy and all the kinds of things you want in a summery music video. I've been listening to this song a lot since it was released, and it gets stuck in my head alot, so yeah, I like it. It's not the best thing ever but it's not bad.
