The Kara Project Ep 2 & 3

I like keeping up with the Kara Project because it includes a lot of "reality" TV about kpop trainee life, which fans don't really get to see often..even if we do see 'reality' TV about our favorite groups it's usually not a lot of them practicing or being criticized for their work. You don't really get to see how most groups form and rarely get to see the process of what it takes to learn a song and dance and techniques for performing so it's interesting to see the advice Baby Kara are given with their practices, such as where to hold the mic and what kind of energy is needed on stage and such.

In these two episodes I had a chance to put member's faces with their personalities and talents. I was excited that they did Lupin, because that's one of my favorite classic kpop songs so I was interested to see how they would execute it.

In episode 2, I was convinced that Yooji was going to receive the highest amount of votes but it turned out to be Sojin, who had the most negative review from the judges so this kind of surprised me. Yooji was last too, another surprise or me. I still don't understand why Youngji got so many votes when she didn't even perform but I guess people really like her. Personally I think Somin and Chaewon have the most potential but Somin to me suits Kara better.

I liked the concept of "Rock Ur Body" for these girls, and I think they did a good job of pulling it off. I didn't really get to see a lot of their talent through this song though; I mean, the dance is just kind of cute, and the song isn't that difficult from what I saw. I think they were stressing the concept this time around, and they did it fine.

In the third episode, I was impressed that they were all able to pull of the song Lupin, because their voices seem too delicate and cute for it but actually, they did a really good job with it. I honestly felt that Youngji, Sojin and Somin had the best vocals in this song though.

I think they did a solid performance of Lupin and honestly I enjoyed it a lot.

So far my thoughts on each member:
Sojin- I think she has a great personality and she's pretty talented; she falls a little short in comparison to the others but she makes up for it by being such a good leader.
Youngji- I haven't seen much of her yet but she has a great voice. I think she just needs more experience to become comfortable on stage.
Somin- For me, she has the most potential. I'm really impressed by how natural she seems on stage and she has a wonderful voice and good dance.
Chaewon- Such great vocals but I think she lacks in the dancing.
Chaekyung- I think she has a good personality and is definitely lively and fun, but for me nothing stands out yet.
Shiyoon- I think Shiyoon seems kind of awkward while on stage. She seems very sweet and has a lovely voice but nothing great.
Yooji- I think she has the energy to be an idol, but she's pretty young honestly and I haven't heard her vocals be outstanding. Her dance is amazing though.

I still think that this whole thing is awkward but I'm just kind of going with it now and I like all the members so we'll see how this goes. I think they do absolutely wonderful things together, but I don't know if that will translate to doing great things with Kara.
